Economic Operator Registration and Identification
Under this system, Economic Operators in Europe have a unique identification number - their EORI Number. These numbers are also available on the Central European System. It benefits traders by ensuring easier processing within the European environment. Each trader is entitled to an EORI Number once they are recognised as a separate legal entity.
In Ireland, the EORI Number, in the majority of cases, is the trader's existing VAT number prefixed with "IE".
